I was trying to sell @m1tch9i’s sister on the fact that #indianfood in Kuching is trash 🚮 only to find ourselves #weijianing on the course that #indian food is in fact better in Penang 🏝️ Once again, this lacked spice! We joke in Malaysia that the Brits took everyone’s spices only to have them settle for nothing but salt, pepper, and vinegar in their food 🍞 but golly sharpen my pencil and woe me a subpoena but I think the kitchen staff act like the SHTI are still on this island 🇬🇧 Sad 😔 If I were pulverised to mush like these spinach I’d at least hope to be a delicacy. The potatoes were good, I guess 🥔 Incredibly sus. Can’t believe I #wastedanrtk on this place 😷
Creamy pureed spiced spinach with potato chunks, North Indian-style. Tasty and spicy on its own, though easily overshadowed by other spicier dishes. Remember to ask for the vegan version without any drizzle of dairy cream. (Allium-free, $10.50) #sgvegan #minorityowned #wholefoodplantbased #wfpb
Given this is a load of spinach and potatoes, cooked to perfection, this feels very much a meal on it own. It’s packing loads of flavour too, and is great paired with rice etc. Gokul is a vego place with a lot of vegan options. From memory, gokul was consistently rated one of the top places for vegan food on Hungry Ang’s blog (pre abillion days). Beautiful food. curries and more, loads of flavour and all round good vibes. always a good place to go, and indeed to bring friends visiting singapore
Easily one of the best palak aloos I’ve had in Singapore. The gravy was thick and fragrant. It was a little on the spicy side, so be warned. The potatoes were on another level.
Came here way before phase 2 HL. This was a little salty for my liking so I might ask for less salt next time or just eating it with lots more carbs in terms of rice or bread. But it is a good way to get your greens in for the day!
