Odd Burger™ (formally Globally Local) was founded in 2014 and originated as a plant-based produce market and food box delivery company. The goal was to give people access to plant-based foods at an affordable price, in order to improve their health, help the environment and avoid harm to animals. In an effort to further this mission, Odd Burger™ launched a food truck in the fall of 2016 with tremendous success – selling out at local festivals and attracting large crowds on the street. The first Odd Burger™ brick and mortar restaurant opened in London, Ontario in December 2016, becoming Canada’s first vegan fast food restaurant. This is my first time having something from Globally Local's actual location in Toronto. I got to try them at the Vegandale Festival (before covid). I was happy to finally visit the brick and mortar location. I chose the vegan sausage to be the main protein choice and I really liked the little fennel seeds in there too. I asked them to put the ketchup, hot sauce, and mustard on it so I wouldn't have to worry about fiddling around outside. They were so nice about that. This particular menu item has a slight maple flavour incorporated in it but is not too much. I would say that I wouldn't mind a tad more. The combo comes with 2 hashbrowns (but you can swap them for something else for a bit more if you like). They look small in the pic because of the angle (plus I was anxious to eat). They are standard size hashbrowns. They were quite nice. I would recommend ordering on your phone rather than inside because they have you order off of a tablet rather than just telling them your order. I had touchscreen gloves but I would rather avoid that in the future. (For those who are OCD like me). The staff are nice and the food is great.
