Malvasía Aromática Seco

When visiting #lapalma, I recommend you try the #malvasia aromática seco wine - it is the one of two places left in the world with this variety of grape from century-old vines, as the rest of earth has had to regraft old vine roots with new American vines due to the filoxera plague that has destroyed many historic vineyards. Due to their geographic separation, the Canary Islands have been free from the plague but for the first time in history it has recently been detected in neigboring Tenerife island. So now is the time to taste this wine!! It is a dry wine but with a floral bouquet that is very pleasing. It is smooth and has notes of citrus, pear and almost buttery. It is considered one of the best quality-price ratios around, priced at 21€ for the bottle.
