I am obsessed with Kim Choo Kueh Chang’s Kueh Lapis. Honestly, the best one in Singapore and its like $2+ for 4 pieces. Insanely good top of the notch Kueh Lapis (This one is made from Rice Flour !!) As someone who’s Native Indonesian and Chinese. Kueh Lapis signifies the fusion of these 2 cultures creating a new one called Peranakan. Hence, why I love Kueh Lapis. If you’re Singaporean, Indonesian or Malaysian (maybe others too) you’d definitely grew up eating this. While this doesn’t compare to the ones I had in Indonesia as a child. I can certainly say, it’s the best one I had here (sorry home cook moms) Also, it’s nice to see our childhood snacks to be #accidentallyvegan especially when it’s an important aspect of our cultures and traditions. Also, if you don’t peel your Kueh Lapis and you bite it. You’re a monster >:(( I mean it. Overall 9.5/10 (deducted for the heavy plastic usage as seen by my face in the last photo) #veganuary Jan 2, 2021
When in doubt of kueh, always go for Kueh Lapis. Thank you to my mom @loveveggies for buying this for me hehe. Also just learnt that Bengkang Ubi (cassava had egg, only after consuming it 😭
