Heura 'Ayam' Pongteh With Carrot And Mushroom

Heura chicken with mushroom and carrot in a classic fermented beans sauce. very hearty & filling dish! "meat" was very tender and flavourful.

this was my favourite at the table that evening! the broth was so tasty and not overly oily. the combination of textures from the heura chicken, carrots and mushrooms also really elevated the dish. can see myself ordering this again when i revisit :)

It was my first time trying heura meat and Ayam Pongteh. Heura meat does not has any unique flavour to it, unlike beyond meat, but it was QQ and a lot softer than your normal hawker centre vegetarian mock meat. Also, i expected the pongteh gravy to be quite umami but it was actually a tad sweet! So addictive omg🙈 this dish also came with mushrooms and carrots which soaked up all the essence of the gravy...YUMMY~😋
