Chocolate Gateau Cake

Chocolate cake with a thin layer of chocolate ganache; no thick cream or mousse filling despite being called a gateau. The chocolate sponge itself was somewhat disappointing as it was very dry and lacking in complexity, except for a few cherries, raisins, and nuts inside. Would probably have been more moist and interesting with a layer of cherry compote. Labelled organic though I'm not sure which ingredients specifically were organic. Rich and decadent! But I wouldn’t say it blows my mind or anything, and for $9 a slice I do feel a bit sorry for my pocket heh.

the chocolate lover in me was happy. cake was a little crumbly but still liked the taste!
