A #croissant in these parts is just... different. It doesn't even try to be authentic, and takes real liberties with both taste and texture. It's flakier and crispier and tastes a bit more heavily of whatever grease is used to achieve the aforementioned two qualities. And it works 😛
This may be the first all-vegan attempt to recreate this version of the croissant that I've tasted in Malaysia. There are other very valiant attempts - see Hungry Tapir, say - but they don't unabashedly try to do this 😋 And then the #almond and sweet dusting were the figurative cherries on top, since I couldn't have the literal ones as the filling 🤪 No seriously, they have just opened up and I told them that I'd come every week if they did a berrylover version of this 😊
