Coq au vin no Delice & Sarrasin — Avaliação do Iszy (21 de abr. de 2025)

When I was in NYC last, two years ago, Delice & Sarrasin was shut down for emergency maintenance, so I was really sad I couldn't try out this highly rated vegan French restaurant. It's so rare to find vegan French food! A few weeks ago @jonok and I found out that Delice & Sarrasin has been struggling and now has a GoFundMe up! I was so bummed that I'd possibly never be able to try this restaurant, but then I realized we were financially stable DINKs with free will, so we booked a long weekend to NYC! It lived up to all my expectations!

I've been looking at this menu for years, and for years this coq au vin has been calling to me. I never had the meat version, but how Delice & Sarrasin describes it sounded so good —Succulent "chicken legs" braised in red wine with Parisian mushrooms, onions, spices and herbes de Provence. I loved this so much! It's really hearty and delicious. It went with the Côtes du Rhône we were drinking. The "chicken" they used was so tender. It even had a skin on it. I'd be interested in trying to make something like this with Meati cutlets. I loved that it came with two of everything, so it was really easy to share. I'd recommend this vegan version of an iconic French dish!
