The vegan bowl at Plaza Azteca is a safe, convenient option — albeit a bit boring 😅 A base of rice holds black beans, roasted corn and poblano peppers, soy “meat”, sautéed mushrooms, pico de gallo, and guacamole. The menu stated that the dish came with “gourmet vegan cheese”, but the restaurant said that they no longer served vegan cheese 🤷🏼‍♀️ The best part of the bowl was the roasted poblano peppers, but other than that the dish was honestly pretty boring. It tasted well enough, don’t get me wrong, but everything was seasoned similarly and it wasn’t particularly creative. That being said though, it is nice to see a vegan option in our little town!
