Review of Carne Asada Tacos (sub soy meat!) at Fajitas Y Salsa by goodsproutrescue
There isn’t much in the way of vegan options in our little rural town, but Fajitas Y Salsas, a Mexican restaurant close to our sanctuary, miraculously offers soy meat on their menu! It’s nothing super fancy (just rehydrated soy curls) but I can’t tell you how nice it is to have it as an option for those nights when I just don’t want to cook 😅 Any taco on the menu can be veganized by asking for no cheese/sour cream and subbing out the animal flesh for soy “meat”. Tacos come with a side of beans/rice, but the rice is made with chicken bouillon so I always request no rice and just get a double portion of black beans instead. These are the carne asada tacos, sub soy meat! Like I said it’s nothing really fancy, but it definitely hit the spot for me yesterday when we went there for lunch after finishing up morning chores at the sanctuary. The tacos were served with cilantro and onions, a flavorful chile de arbol salsa, and a lime wedge for squeezing over the top. We didn’t get it this time, but the fresh guacamole at Fajitas Y Salsas is DIVINE and absolutely delicious on these tacos as well!
