Absolutely original 👏 I’ve never had a #nutmeg drink include the fruit itself! Shame though because it’s delicious 😋 The sweetened snack version called “manisan” is absolutely a treat you should seek out while in Penang 🏝️ It usually comes shredded! 🎸

The nutmeg used here comes all #locallysourced from Balik Pulao and is cooked in rock sugar for a full 8 hours 🕗 If you’ve never made it before, it goes several hours worth of slow cooking the halved fruit, pericarp and all, before peeling it and repeating the process all over again without the skin 🐌

Well worth it, it’s delicious 😋
