Last month, I had the opportunity to try Vraja's Soya Chicharon, and I must say, these crispy snacks left quite an impression.
One of the first things I noticed was their impressive texture. I ate this while still recovering from a wisdom truth extraction so soaked them in vinegar for a few minutes to soften them, but remarkably, they managed to retain their satisfying crunch throughout.
This snack also offers a simple yet delightful taste profile. I detected a somewhat faint, chicken-like saltiness that I described to a friend as “like high-protein fries”. Add the sourness of the vinegar and the mild kick of chili pepper, and you’ve got an enhanced the overall taste that doesn’t overpower the palate.
Priced at Php 120.00, they promised a unique culinary experience, and they certainly delivered.
