Although it’s fun to mix things up and try innovative new protein sources, I think nothing beats the simple, time-honored perfection of #tofu. You really can do so much with an unassuming slab of soy — scrambles, stir-fries, even dessert! This #organic firm tofu is comparable in price to the individual tubs sold at Trader Joe’s, but it takes up a fair amount of fridge space, as it’s sold in a set of four individual boxes (Costco.) If you’re the type to go through tons of the stuff, it’s a good opportunity to stock up.
There’s nothing about this brand in particular that really stands out, but like all tofu, it’s affordable, dependably sold in many grocery stores, and so versatile. It is firm enough that I can use it as-is, but the standard size also fits perfectly in my tofu press (a holiday gift to myself that just keeps on giving!) when I want to eliminate the water for a more dense and robust texture.
