Black beans are quite possibly my favorite bean variety and a must-have in my pantry. They’re wonderful refried, in stews, or simply seasoned and eaten with rice. With the days growing colder (at least relatively speaking,) I’ve been craving the comforts of hearty homemade chili with tempeh. I subbed out one can of red kidneys for these #organic black beans, which held up nicely despite the prolonged simmering time. I love their nutritional value and the hours-long satiety they provide, as well as their low price!

That chili looks so delicious! What a great idea to add tempeh! Never thought of that. Will have to try! Very protein packed meal!

Yummy! I made chili this weekend too. My bf was feeling under the weather and it’s a favorite comfort meal. I usually use soy mince or TVP. Never thought to use tempeh but that would be lovely! 😊
