Zenzo dairy-free cheddar does have a good flavour when used in various dishes, though I wouldn’t personally call it my favourite out of what is currently available—especially not when sliced and eaten on its own.
It has a soft, moist, crumbly texture, and comes in a medium-sized block for $7.80.
I would like to see it melt better in the oven—same feedback I would give all dairy-free cheeses currently available in New Zealand.
Used here on a homemade dairy-free garlic butter white pizza, topped with eggplant, basil/pine nut pesto, and diced red onion. 🙂
