Fresh vegetables are best stir fried lightly with minimal seasoning. This is done with slightly charred ginger juliennes and soy sauce. Perfect on its own or with rice. This is a real vegan dish. I love this!
Kai Lan is the Cantonese name for Chinese broccoli or Chinese kale. Its mandarin name is Jie Lan. It is a leaf vegetable with thick, flat, glossy blue-green leaves with thick stems, and florets similar to broccoli. 
According to the Canadian Academy of Sports Nutrition, One cup of Kai Lan contains 3 grams of carbohydrates, 2 grams of fiber and 1 gram of protein. Average calories: 16 per one cup. Vitamins found in higher amounts: vitamins K, C, A, B9 and B2. Minerals found in higher amounts: manganese, calcium, potassium, and magnesium. So it is a super healthy veggie.
