I'm really really not a 清汤 guy, so if I'm telling you that something is amazing, then it must be, yeah? 😛 This is possibly my favourite place to get #noodlesoup in the whole of KL. It's a one-man show in the middle of a run-of-the-mill #kopitiam, and he achieves such incredibly rich and complex herbal flavours 😋 I am struggling to list all the ingredients in this RM8 soup, because there genuinely were so many - the eponymous #cordyceps, #tofu of the silken sort, #lettuce, #cabbage, #enoki, #oystermushroom, #broccoli, fried #shallots, and the evilest of evil weeds 😬 In fairness to him I forgot to remind him that my life is #betterwithoutcoriander, so blame is mine 😪

Oh wow seriously outstanding, potentially the tastiest and most glorious 清汤 I have ever had in my entire life 🤤 I'm not a big fan of #noodles with #clearsoup, but for this I'll change 😋 The second picture is actually how it came presented, but I felt that stirring it up a bit did more justice to the richness of the ingredients. #tofu (soft kind), #enoki, #radish, julienned #carrot, #blackfungus, #yam, and of course the promised #seaweed that gave this thing all the sweetness and umami I could ever have wanted 😚 RM8. Yep, RM8 ❤️

This was my order (the previous laksa was the gf's 😛), I'm so unbelievably partial to a #bakkutteh that it's scary 🙈 At a stall like this I scan the menu for it, and once sighted it puts everything else out of contention. Ingredients are the usual suspects but all vegan: #taupok, #taukee, #enoki, and sliced #shiitake 😋 But the broth was the best thing about it, herby and flavourful and deeply soothing 😌 I still think they should have used a thinner #noodle though, like 米粉 or 面线. I know what they're going for, some sort of vegan alternative to the thick yellow egg noodles, but nah 😐

An impressively close and #spicy recreation of #penang (asam) #laksa with something that replicates the smokiness of fish sauce. I'm not a fan of the original (my Northern parents still haven't forgiven me 🙊) so didn't fully appreciate this, but I recommend it for those on a Penang food hunt! 😃 My first #malaysianeats meal since returning from three weeks abroad. London may have 90% of the world's good vegan food, but it ain't got this 😛

RM7.50, takeway. Normally I just state the english name of a product. But this time, I realised that no one was going to be able to figure out what 'RaBa' is supposed to be unless I put the chinese name on as well. It's a curry laksa, but not very santan (coconut milk)- heavy; more of a broth and curry powder base. Comes with tofu, enoki mushrooms, tofu puffs (豆腐卜), and some lettuce. The bunga kantan (torch ginger) was a surprise, but appreciated too. The noodles were thick and springy, with an instant noodle type texture that absorbed the soup a little. Pretty cheap, and I got enough soup to make a second bowl of curry noodles. #kopitiam

RM7.50/bowl I was walking around the area exercising, looked up happycow for a recommendation of what to eat. Quite amazed to find this place. It's a stall in Restaurant Station 8 in Chow Yang, SS2. I think it's the cheapest explicitly vegan food I have seen so far. Because of #mco3.0 , we can't dine-in at the moment. Didn't plan to takeaway this dish, so I only had a container for the soup. He gave me a lot of soup, more than the bowl can fit. The soup really had the assam laksa smell, though it was missing the sweet hit of shrimp paste that the original has. The occasional bits of bunga kantan/torch ginger flower really gave you that uniquely 'assam laksa' taste. The soup also came with a lot of mushrooms (that's what you see piled high on the noodles), and a few pieces of 腐竹 (beancurd sheets). It doesn't have the bits of fish floating around in the soup like the original does, but he does include small bits of 豆腐卜 (tofu puffs) that I think is supposed to replicate that. For RM7.50, this is extremely good value (pretty much on par with local #kopitiam food). The cucumbers were pretty much half dead from being lugged around in my backpack for 30 mins as I walked home, so I added some fresh ones to stage the photo. After I got my order, I mentioned that this was my first time trying his stall. The guy told me that if he had known this was my first time, he would have recommended the curry laksa. So I will probably go for that the next time I come by here.
