This is Reverie's highly anticipated entry for the Vegan Chef Challenge. #tcveganchef These crispy tacos have shredded burnt ends, which is made from seitan. I've never had "burnt ends" before and didn't think they sounded appetizing, but they're really good. They're firm and have really nice flavor! Definitely not burnt. The tacos also have lemongrass slaw, bourbon aioli, and scallions. These tacos were so amazing! Reverie hasn't done crispy tacos in a super long time. They had crispy potato tacos back in early COVID for takeout, but have stuck to soft shell tacos since. These tacos are served with smoked corn ribs topped with tofu queso fresco, cilantro, and a side of mojo jalapeño aioli. I've never really been interested in corn ribs. They just seem like a fancy way to eat corn on the cob, which is already great and requires less work. These were incredible though! They have delicious smoked paprika and other spices on them. Your fingers definitely get a bit messy! I'm a matcha lover so I was surprised it never occurred to me that Reverie didn't have matcha on their menu until very recently! They make their matcha latte with brown sugar syrup, so it's a nice treat! I got mine iced on a warm day and enjoyed it on their lovely patio with a book and a scone after work. It's not too sweet, but it's so easy to drink. I love that I have that option now at Reverie! A scone and tea at Reverie after work is one of my favorite little things to do for myself. I love that Reverie has savory scone options. This sundried tomato and goat cheese gluten free option was really nice. The scone is fairly dry, but it is gluten free. It's definitely best accompanied by a drink! Lemon poppyseed muffins were my favorite type of muffin as a kid. I still love them! Hard Times Cafe ok West Bank reliably has them. I was happy to see Reverie carrying them too! This was incredible! The crumble on top was so delicious and salty. It was perfect with the sweet cake with a little layer of strawberry rhubarb. It could have been fruitier, but the crumble is always my favorite part and that was done very well. This was a great start to the day. This muffin was perfect for enjoying on Reverie's new(ish) patio on a sunny spring day! I got it with a London fog and had a nice time reading a chapter of my book after work. The raspberries were super fresh and juicy. They were a bit tart, but the sweetness of the almond was a nice balance. I was happy with how much almond flavor there was. I've had my eye on this savory scone for a long time. When I saw it was available while getting lunch for my birthday, I got it to save it for an afternoon treat! This is a gluten free scone that has kimchi and vegan Gouda and is topped with sesame seeds. The kimchi and fouda are subtle, but I did get a bit of funky spice from the kimchi and it was mildly cheesy. This limited-time burger at Reverie is made served on a pretzel bun and contains their house-made patty, arugula, bourbon chipotle mayo, smoked onion, and beer cheese. The beer cheese was the most exciting party of the burger. It's zesty and was a really fun addition. It was especially great with the pretzel bun. The rest of the burger was good, but nothing special. This is an option for the 6th course on the 2025 Valentine's Day prix fixe menu. Even though I'm not the biggest tiramisu fan (sorry, the coffee is just too strong), I did like the couple bites I had of this. The sponge in this tiramisu was made from almond flour, so this is a gluten free dessert. This tasted so decadent and not too espresso-y for my palate. This is an option for the 6th course on the 2025 Valentine's Day prix fixe menu. I was so excited for this dessert and was not disappointed! The strawberries were so fresh and paired so well with the coconut whipped cream. This dish also had rosehip hibiscus syrup which gave it a subtle, but sweet, floral flavor. This is an option for the 5th course on the 2025 Valentine's Day prix fixe menu. This is similar to the stuffed chicken they had last year, but I'm glad they brought it back, and in a lemon sauce! I love piccata! This stuffed seitan chicken was really great and I really enjoyed the sauce.
