This was a great salad 🥗 on a hot day! 🥵 I was in Kensington to see the Splash! Exhibition at The Design Museum (highly recommend) and as I arrived at lunchtime I stopped by Marugame. I was confused, when the menu said pulled mushrooms I was just expecting shredded mushrooms but this I think is Fable which I reviewed a few weeks ago. It was tasty 😋 just not what I was expecting. The dressing was great and all the vegetables, you can also visit the condiment station and add any extras you want.

🇯🇵🥦 Mmmmm crispy #tempura #broccoli. They have a top shelf here of #sweetdreamsaremadeofgrease fried foods that are all or mostly vegan. There’s courgette, pumpkin🎃, cauliflower, kakiage, etc. First time trying this broccoli tempura and we loved it and it felt like a good portion size unlike some of the other tempura. The courgette piece was half the size as the one I had last time. They do some special offers at times but I’m not sure it works so well as I have nothing to show for it after purchasing many things. Bummer. 😕Anyway this was fab if slightly not warm enough. #japanese #veganlondon #londoneats

🫛🇯🇵 We came back here for these #tofu #veganskewers as we knew you could order them on their own. They told us it would take 5 minutes and they’d bring them over. We went back after about 10 minutes and they’d forgotten about us. They were still luke warm when they finally came. Argh. Again you can pimp them out with different toppings like ginger🫚 and green onion. It’s a pretty good deal at £2.50 for two skewers and you can up your protein intake. Do you think you get enough protein? Lately I’m wondering if I’m not lacking in this. It’s tough to eat beans 🫛🫘🫛and/or lentils 3 times a day along with some 🥜nuts and seeds 🌱like Dr Greger advocates for. #japanese #veganlondon #londoneats

🍜🇯🇵 I was not tempted to try this as it looked too plain in their adds and I’d read a review which said the same. My partner was interested though so we ordered a small creamy #udon for £5.95. I hadn’t remembered on my last visit that there’s a bar where you can pimp out your dish with green onion, pickled ginger, 🫚raw ginger, sesame seeds, and tempura crispies. I hadn’t read either that it was a rich #tonkotsu style soup. I loved this! The taste of the #vegan broth was superb. All the extras really pimped it out too. I wished I had gotten a larger bowl of this. Their range of vegan #tempura is great too which we indulged in as well. 😋 #veganlondon #londoneats #japanese #noodles

🇯🇵 Tempura is amazing and I love how this chain have several vegan options like this huge chunk of courgette for £1.65, 🎃pumpkin £1.95, sweet🍠 potato £1.35, 🍘nori, or kakiage £2.85, I’m unclear if the vegetable 🥟gyoza for £1 is vegan as it looks like it has the same symbol as the rest but it’s not indicated on their website as 🌱vegan. Hmmm. Everything was being freshly made when I was there. This is very much #sweetdreamsaremadeofgrease. It’s a great way to get in more veg every day if you struggle to eat it in other forms. They have loads of deals from their club and won a best value chain award in 2022. I’ll be back for sure to try more of everything. Yum!! #japanese #tempura #greatvalue #veganuary #veganuary2024

🍜🎃 I’ve been wanting to check out this newish chain and a bowl of free udon noodles is just the thing to entice me there! I loved this place as it felt very nostalgic for me. I wasn’t crazy about udon when I lived in 🇯🇵Japan but it’s grown on me. They had Veganuary 🌱signs and posters everywhere here which was awesome and they were still offering the specials even though we are mid February now. This was one of the specials for #veganuary2024. This small pumpkin katsu 🍛curry udon was £8.95 and 613 calories. I’m glad I didn’t get the regular or large as it was so filling already. I got £5.95 off with their free noodle deal so it was only £3. They were frying everything as I was there so everything is very freshly made. There were chunks of veg in the curry so it felt healthy and tasty too. I wish we had one closer. They won an award for best value restaurant group in 2022. I’ll be back for sure to this chain as it was delicious and healthier than other chains while being a total bargain too. #veganuary #japanese #udon #veganlondon #londoneats #greatvalue #noodles #curry
