Le Basque is the newest restaurant from innovative vegan chef, Guy Vaknin and it lives up to the excellence of his other restaurants I have had the pleasure of experiencing! First of all, this restaurant is beautiful and elegant. We were seated in the upper dining room and I felt like I was transported to Europe. It has a very Parisian feel. The service was great and very attentive. Everyone was kind and welcoming. And then of course the food was top-tier. Honestly, I think he should be receiving Michelin stars here soon. The flavors were perfectly balanced and the mushroom escargot was so good that it made me cry a little bit. That has only happened one or two other times… The price for the two of us was about a third of what we paid at Eleven Madison Park, so it was definitely still on the pricier side, but worth it in my opinion. I look forward to going back!
