The initial plan was to go to Shami’s, but it was closed when we got there. We walked past two Korean BBQ restaurants before seeing this restaurant serving southern Indian and #fusion cuisine. It is #Halal certified too. While my husband ordered his usual dum briyani, I, of course, went for anything that seemed #vegan-friendly. Plain rice because veg #briyani may contain ghee (clarified butter), and the side dishes were what was available on display that day. You can also order a la carte for dishes not on display, such as stir-fried banana flowers, but I was very #hungry and wanted my meal ASAP. The #rice was #fluffy and #fresh, the #tofu was flavourful and #yummy but it was cold, the #potatoes were soft and #flavourful, and the #cabbage was good too. Love the #sambar (lentil-based vegetable stew) with clumps of potatoes in it. The #rasam was sourer than what I’ve tried from other #Indian restaurants, but I’m okay with that. Not bad
