One of the dishes I really missed after giving up meat was Xiao Long Bao and I’ve finally found a delicious plant-based version at Crystal Jade. I believe it’s only available at their i12 Katong outlet. The soup in this dumpling is just chef’s kiss!

Nice plant-based option at Crystal Jade. Quite spicy. Portion is small but reasonable given price of $6.90. Good snack for tea break.

The original version is rather sweet.. thought it will be a lil spicy but none. Just sweet. Not that salty as well nor oily so it’d be perfect for peeps who like healthier meals. I recreated it into Mala stir fried with udon. So belly yummilicious. Satisfied lah.. 🥳🌱

I love mapo tofu but am hardly impressed or didn’t enjoy them too much. This however is yummy.. but when compared the one I had in alt.a in Seoul it pales in comparison. Really miss alt.a’s mapo tofu. Back here at home this is one belly good mapo tofu. Happy 😋🥳

May seem like a simple dish but not easy to prep like this.. love it.. 😋 belly delicious and fragrant~ 🌱🫶🏻 The only flaw is that some of the French beans have these ‘fibre’ thread thingy that weren’t removed. 😞

Update: I warmed it up pan frying and it tasted way better~ in fact it is now belly yummy. 🥳 Think the fillings were too soggy or like not cooked fully before I warm up. This isn’t spicy at all for me. And somehow I didn’t quite enjoy it.. like any siew mai. Ordered this cos this is a plant based CNY special if I’m not wrong. However this is my personal preference. Peeps who like siew mai may like it~

This was really delicious! Impossible pork in mapo tofu. Topped with spring onions. Great with a bowl of rice. It wasn’t overly oily or salty and has a right amount of spiciness. Good size portion for sharing. Would totally order this again!

This is super good. My fav out of the 3 items in the bundle. A lil spicy. Very fragrant. Good noodles. Great sauce. Veggies. Impossible pork. I ate it when it has turned cold but taste and texture of noodles and everything still tasted belly belly delicious. 😋🤍🌱

Good wantons too.. but too little soup for takeaways. Am certain it’s way more yummy when dining in. This is an exclusive bundle set from Deliveroo. $25 for this. Mini noodle. And the xlb. Go try before it’s gone. 🌱😋

Update: (Feb 2023) I ordered this again and it is really very good. Skin is not too thick even at the folds I think it’s acceptable. And I love the soup in their dumplings. 😋🌱🫶🏻 When I devoured them, it’s already cold.. yet it is belly delicious. There’s soup in the dumpling with yummy impossible fillings. For this xlb vinegar and ginger is not recommended cos it is really good on its own. 🌱
