On the Trattoria lunch menu is this wonderful dish of Heura strips sauteéd in a tomato sauce and accompanied by fresh #organic vegetables from their nearby eco farm. Tender #eggplant, #roastedredpepper and #zucchini were topped with fresh herbs including #parsley and #basil. The high quality of the sauté was evident, however I was a bit disappointed with the potatoes which were industrial-type fries. This is the only vegan main dish apart from a few pizzas which are vegan and specified to be without cheese. Priced at 16,50€. This separate club area is wonderful and less crowded, and can be accessed without staying in the Hotel Jardin Tecina. The hotel website has a specific section dedicated to "vegan and KM0 but of course we were skeptical and had our doubts prior to arrival. But what a pleasant surprise! In the buffet restaurant there are specific areas with vegan products, so it eliminates having to "hunt" for things that you can eat. They also have an "eco finca" where they grow their own organic produce which is featured in many of their dishes. The property has 5 restaurants in total, ALL have vegan options on their menus and the views in all are absolutely stunning. As part of the birthday surprise for #danielshubby, I booked this amazing "cave for two" experience with the Vegan Basket - Cesta Vegana - meal option. The first photo is for later in the menu order, but was so festive I decided to be the opener for this luxurious meal. The starter was a #tomato #carpaccio with #cucumber and #papaya chunks topped with #organic greens and herbs from their own garden, dressed with a #mango #passionfruit vinaigrette. An absolutey fresh and tangy way to open our appetites! Next up was a creamy rice with #pumpkin, topped with Heura strips and veggies from their organic garden including #carrot and #asparagus. Sublime! Third was a paper-thin sliced #melon osmotized with #rose, #beet and red berries (first photo), drizzled with passion fruit coulis and garnished with #starfruit and #blueberries. This dish left us speechless and reveling in all the fruity contrasts delighting every tastebud! Last of all, sumptuous housemade #chocolatetruffle, dark chocolatey bliss. Swipe further to see the actual cave and the view overlooking the pool and club below. After the restaurant staff show you to the cave, you are left to enjoy it alone for the 2.5 hours booked. The food is delivered by a pulley system (seen to the left in outward looking photo), and a phone number is provided if you need anything else sent to the cave. Just look at this amazing #bruschetta!! The base is toasted country #bread #panpais and piled high with roasted veggies that are KM0 from their nearby ecogarden that include #zucchini, #redpepper, #greenpepper, #eggplant. Roasted #garlic, #cherrytomato and fresh #basil complete this amazing starter shared with #danielshubby. A shout out to @tamiapple for the fab hashtag! Priced at 8,90€. It is available on the lunch menu at Club Laurel in Playa de Santiago, a beach club that has a swimming pool, bar, sun loungers, bali beds and this Italian restaurant. It is part of the Hotel Jardin Tecina complex but you can enjoy it without being a hotel guest. The menu has limited vegan options but the experience is worth it!
