This soup was so beautiful and much needed on a day like this. It’s so yummy and creamy and comforting and everything you need a bowl of soup to be. It’s also an extremely generous portion. the freshly baked bread that came with this was also really yummy. (gluten free option available). Top marks for everything. #soup #souplover If I were to recommend a vegan place in london, Black Cat would certainly top the list. To start, their food is just so beautiful and amazing, with really generous portions, and i cannot recommend them enough. Plus, they’re run as a cooperative and their stance against hierarchies translate to how the place is run. They also raise funds through their bookstore and merch for refugee support, Medical Aid in Palestine, to name a few. (they have an amazing collection of books too, all for five pounds and under!). Unfortunately, the future of the cafe and co-op remains uncertain: Carla and Nacho are leaving London and are looking for new folks who share their ethics and values to continue running this important place. Until then, if you’re in and around London, do consider visiting them, enjoying their awesome food, and grabbing a book, some merch or one of their fine pieces of art. I hope that more vegan places take a page from their book: the best vegan cafes are often the ones that extend their vegan ethic beyond their menu to include everyone, that truly value mutual aid and supporting each other. I always feel at home here❤️🏴. Single step at entrance. Bicycle parking in front. Printed menu in English. Allergens stated on menu, and they always ask you as you place your order. #mutualaid #anarchyislove #untilallarefree #blackcat #blackflag #humanliberation #animalliberation #cooperatives

This Breakfast empanada was beautiful. Tasty, full of tofu, mushrooms, etc. I actually had not expected it to fill me so well, from its size. Well yummers. #empanada #breakfast #brunch Black Cat remains my top vegan places. Not only is their food amazing, with beautiful flavours and generous portions, their values take centre stage. They’re run as a cooperative, and reject the notion of hierarchies within veganism, as it should be. Anarchists who stand for total liberation, they also raise funds through their bookstore and merchandise to support refugees, and medical aid in Palestine, etc. Their collection of books (all £5 or less) and pottery and artwork are also really good). I always feel at home here. The best places are the ones who extend their vegan ethic beyond their menu to include everyone, that truly value mutual aid, solidarity and supporting and empowering one another. Much Love to them. Unfortunately, Carla and Nacho are leaving London and are looking for new owners who share their ethics and values, and the future of the cafe and co-op remains uncertain. Until then, if you believe in what they stand for, do consider visiting their cafe, trying their awesome food, and grabbing a book, or some of their art pieces. Single step at entrance. Bicycle parking right outside. Printed menu in English and on board. Allergens stated on menu, and they always ask you as you place your order. #mutualaid #anarchyislove #untilallarefree #blackcat #blackflag #totalliberation #animalliberation #cooperatives
