Victoria Sponge Cake

I was delighted to find a whole Victoria sponge cake and for this price in a supermarket; that's unimaginable in Spain. The cake was dense rather than spongy and light, but delicious nevertheless. The strawberry jam also tasted great, though what surprised me the most was the mock cream; it was scrumptious and very much like the one I remember eating when I wasn't vegan. Overall, I think I'd enjoy it more if it were a bit less sweet. Yet, all of us loved it at home, so I would repurchase with my eyes closed. M&S, 2.59£, reduced (435 g) Pd: extra points for the packaging because the cake survived a 8h journey that included a flight.

It’s been years since I’ve been able to have a Victoria Sponge Cake and I’ve forgotten how good it was! This cake brought back all the memories of it. The strawberry jam and mock cream were scrumptious and the cake, while not as spongy and light as the original, was still lovely. The cake was on the dense side but all the flavours were there and I could have easily eaten the whole cake if I didn’t have to share it with my coworkers lol

I couldn’t find this at our regular, smaller M&S, so I had to go into the big store in the city 😩 It was worth the travel as this is a pretty tasty cake. The sponge is dense and a little drier than I’d like, but it’s still ok. I would buy it again but not too frequently. Delicious Victoria sponge Cake £3.90 ordered via Ocado who advertise some of M&S vegan plant kitchen products . A lovely texture vegan Jam & butter cream filling sprinkled with icing sugar. I found it delightful and couldn't fault the flavour & presentation. I'd order this time and time again for cakes as apart from it's exquisite taste it's substantial and filling . I was pricing up vegan cakes to order in bakery and they were quite pricey for special occasions so this is great value for celebration cake too.

Finally we can walk into a supermarket and get a vegan victoria sponge! This was great and I will definitely be buying for future birthdays and tea parties!
