Taiwan Water Chestnut Pastry

Wasn’t the biggest fan of this, as the pastry was quite dry and the filling was minimal (also not sure how Taiwan or water chestnut features in this dish). Wouldn’t get this again. #vegansnacks #veganpastry #traditionalpastry

Presumably dubbed 'water chestnut pastry' due to its resemblance to the aquatic corm - though why this includes 'Taiwan' in the name is beyond me 🤷🏻‍♀️. In any case, this crusty, flaky confection is a decent pantry snack with sticky malt filling and crunchy white sesame seeds all over it.
