Truly fascinating vegan bacon, made not out of mushrooms but mushroom mycelium—the roots rather than the fruit! 🍄🟫 Oyster “mush bellies” make the meatiness, with plenty of coconut oil. I was shocked that it replicated both the crispiness and the fattiness of a good piece of bacon. 🥓 The flavor was also on point, smoky and really convincing! My non-vegan cousin was shook. Animal-free is the best part, but it’s also fulfilling to read MyForest Foods’ claims of 98% less land, 99% less water, and 33% less CO2eq than pork bacon. #sustainable
