Just Like Sour Cream

I found this product at my local Wegmans. I was looking for a vegan sour cream to go with some new potatoes. This was a great choice. It had a mild coconut flavor, but it wasn’t too much. I thought it was tangy and smooth. I would definitely buy it again. #vegansourcream #ditchdairy

The texture is a little thicker than traditional sour cream, not as smooth and light. But the taste is just like I remember and is totally a suitable and tasty alternative. It’s a little pricey for just a small container, so this is a perfect size to use as a condiment rather than in a recipe that might call for more. For example, I made a nacho salad with warm cashew cheese sauce, some shredded lettuce and tomatoes, and a dollop of guacamole and this sour cream. I have always been a Tofutti gal for sour cream, but this one might be even better. The last couple of times I’ve bought Tofutti, it has been way too firm. This one is creamier and has more of a tang. Will definitely buy this again.

The taste of this is pretty good- very similar to sour cream with a slight coconut flavor. The texture is super rich, thick and creamy. I like that it is fortified with B12 but it's also super high in saturated fat so it's definitely something I would try to limit. A small container was rather expensive but I've just been using small amounts here and there so not too bad. Found at Walmart which was exciting. I think I've been seeing a lot more vegan products there lately which is cool.
