Overall, I love daiya. Their cheese can definitely be an acquired taste, as it has a very unique funky flavor. But personally I love it! This mac is super easy to make since the cheese comes as a sauce, so you don’t have to add milk and butter like most boxed macs. Daiya can definitely be on the pricier side, but worth the price for the convenience. #veganmacncheese #glutenfree
I like Daiya Mac. It’s got a funky unique flavor, but isn’t that what cheese is all about? The only plastic in the packaging is the sauce pack if I remember correctly, so points for that even though it’s not perfect. I have eaten Daiya Mac before and I will eat it again. I only buy this when I see it on a sale or have a coupon. I love this boxed mac but it’s VERY salty. I cannot drink enough water to satiate the thirst I feel after having some of this. Not Bad for Vegan Mac ____________________ I've tried quite a few vegan mac and cheese products over the years, and Daiya's Deluxe White Cheddar version is one of the better ones. It doesn't have that weird artificial taste that some vegan cheeses can have. The sauce is pretty creamy and has a decent cheddar flavor, although it's not going to fool anyone into thinking it's the real dairy deal. The pasta holds up well and doesn't get mushy. Preparation is simple - just boil the pasta and make the sauce according to the instructions. It's filling and makes for a decent vegan mac and cheese option, but I wouldn't go so far as to call it mind-blowing or life-changing. If you're craving some plant-based cheesy pasta, it'll get the job done without being amazing or terrible. I'd give it 4.0 stars.
