Bak kwa (Chinese bbq pork jerky) is a must-have every Lunar New Year and I’m glad we’re seeing more plant-based options as the years go by. Wasn’t too impressed by the mushy texture when I first tried this at room temperature but the taste changed completely after popping them in the toaster oven for a couple of minutes. The sweet smokey taste was much more apparent and texture became less mushy. Pretty close to the real deal I’d say but the name definitely scored more points in my book! #punbasedlife
