Zesty Ramen for Vegan

This is not a vegan restaurant but offers some vegan options. The ramen is their specialty and they have 2 amazing vegan ramen. This was the Zesty Ramen for vegan, made with Rice soup, Daikon & Soycream soup, Sapporo Engine special miso vegan sauce, rice bran oil, Medium-thick wrinkled noodle (egg-free noodle), Fried carrot & buckwheat seeds, four types of pepper, Green onions, sesame, three types of chili pepper and two herbs. This one is more on the spicy side, but nothing too extreme. It was delicious and very flavorful. Price was 1,800 ¥. Love the food, spicy food got chance to taste local vegan food. Sadly to say they closed already... hoping In future they can reopen~~

For me this dish was just too spicy as I am a bit of a wimp with spice but the flavours were absolutely delicious! The soup is really creamy. The soup is rice, daikon and soycream and contains fried carrot & buckwheat seeds, green onions, sesame, 4 types of pepper, 3 types of chilli pepper and 2 herbs. Which might explain the spiciness! 😁😋

The soup was zesty as implied and packed a spicy punch from the multiple peppers enough to break a sweat. But beyond that there was nothing going for the dish. Toppings were meagre, basically spring onions floating on soup. I chose the gluten-free option (konjac noodles). Maybe it was the wrong choice to go with the soup. I expected much more considering the price of the dish and that they are a speciality ramen restaurant. (¥1230). This dish is one of two vegan options available. #vegankyoto
