Walnut Paste

Hellooooo why do I not have affinity w black sesame🥲 It’s my first time having walnut paste and I must say I really love it because it’s not as heavy as what a black sesame paste would taste like, yet it’s nowhere near mild or diluted — the note of sweetness is just right for me. While the general texture is smooth, I really like the incorporation of bits of walnut (skin?) in it. Another great dessert to end off dinner!

Quite rare to come by walnut paste desserts in sg so this was a must order. But unfortunately found it quite too sweet. But good thick consistency!! They allow you to have a ‘taster’ set of 3 different flavours but in smaller bowls at $5. Good if you wna try everything or not sure if you like.

🍧 Walnut paste is a popular Cantonese dessert along side Black Sesame & Peanut Pastes 🍧 However it is most rare and hardest to come by, so I always order it if I see it on the menu 🍧 It is the most difficult to make as the toasting of walnuts to get the fragrance before it burns and just harder to grind smooth 🍧 This home made version hits the mark!
