Next up on my plant-based food guide to UCLA: Native Foods. Ah, Native Foods - hands-down my all-time favorite vegan spot in Westwood. I remember stumbling across the cute lil shop during my first few weeks as a Freshman here at UCLA, and I’ve been hooked ever since. Native Foods offers veganized versions of every comfort food you could ever dream of. The dishes I got to try for this review were the Southern-Fried Chicken & Waffles, Orange Cauliflower, and Native Double Cheeseburger. First up, the Chicken & Waffles: literally one of my all-time favorite dishes at Native Foods. This dish offers the perfect combination of spicy and sweet that keeps you wanting more. The crispy chicken was seasoned perfectly and paired so well with the sweet, fluffy waffles.
