This was a really cool and innovative dish.
‘Golden brown plant- based chicken-style schnitzel, topped
with spicy salsa, fresh avocado and vegan mozzarella cheese sprinkle. Served with chips, stir-fry fettuccine or a garden salad.’
The schnitzel and avocado were so good but the salsa I found too spicy. It was a bit overwhelming and blunted the taste of the rest of the dish which was a shame. I was hoping it would be more of a sweet chili kind of spicy but it was way more intense.
I opted for the stir-fry fettuccine on the side and it was great! I really enjoyed the veggies it came with, including tomatoes, peppers and mushrooms.
This was a well balanced meal, with protein, starch, vegetables and healthy fat.
It was a large and satisfying portion so not sure why they listed it under ‘Light Meals’ on the menu 😂
If I could replace the spicy salsa with plain salsa I would have probably given this dish a 4.5 star review but as it stands I’ll probably order something else next time
Good value at R139.90 if you like the spiciness
