No Crab Noodles

I am a huge fan of tomato-based soupy dishes, so I naturally really enjoyed this dish. I've never had the non-vegan equivalent before, but I definitely really enjoyed the #umami and sweet and savoury flavours of this dish, without wishing that it had crab in it. The #crab tofu that comes with this dish is pretty unique and I appreciate that it serves as a form of protein for this dish, along with the mock fishcakes. I personally prefer the flat rice noodles that come with the pho to the thick rice #vermicelli here, but I guess the vermicelli goes better with the soup here. I first had this dish about 1.5 years ago, back when it was still $11.80, but unfortunately inflation has struck again.

Deliciously fulfilling tomato based soup with mushrooms, tofu, pea sprouts, pineapple and thick rice vermicelli. The pineapple and tomato base gives an amazing sour + sweet flavour to it. The crab tofu isn’t the best, doesn’t really have much resemblance to crab meat at all. But overall a very interesting dish to enjoy.

Chose this because I've got a thing for tomato-ey broth. Can't say this was bad, but it's not great either. Surprisingly dou miao sprigs and pineapple chunks were thrown in for good measure. And while I expected flat pho, the noodles turned out to be thick rice vermicelli instead. Final verdict? NEEDS MORE HERBS. #vietnamese #sgvegan

Thick broth-like tomato soup was sweet, sour and savoury all at once. Wholesome dish filled with peasprouts, shimeiji mushrooms, special tofus, tomatoes, pineapple and whole grain vermicelli, topped with cilantro. Satisfying meal on a rainy day. Definitely will go back for more 😋

This came out a little different from the last time I had it! A whole #pinkdot ago 🙈 Thankfully, a whole more #coriander this time 😜 The #broth was a nice warm and mildly #spicy with a whole bunch of #silkentofu scrambled throughout. I was looking for something refreshing after a really groggy Sunday & this fit the bill perfectly 👌
