When I was in Paris I was delighted by the many vegan restaurants that one
can find there, mostly in the main area of the city. The Abattoir végétal (meaning: the vegetable slaughterhouse...) is a tiny, nice restaurant with a menu changing with the seasons. The decoration of this salty pancakes matches with the lovely decoration of the place. I had those pancakes twice. The firsy time I was disappointed because salty and sweet was kind of mixed, the pancakes being sweet, the other ingredients salty...but the second time I left the restaurant really happy: the pancakes were salty, the ingredients so well disposed on the dish were fresh and gave the nice feeling one has when eating healthy but still delicious food. In the plate: sweet potatoes, tofu, tahini sauce, salad and vegetables...and a touch of colorful flowers!
On the other pictures: the first (or second, for americans ;) ) floor of the restaurant, two pictures of the Jardin de Luxembourg and one of the Académie française seen from the Pont des Arts, which are really close to the Abattoir végétal on the rive gauche of Paris :) check the website of the restaurant, it's great!
