Dandies All Natural Mini Vanilla Marshmallows

I am really impressed with these! They are really tasty toasted or straight out of

the bag. I tried Dandies many years ago and I feel like they are even better now. I'm not sure if they changed they recipe from the original but whatever they're doing is working! They definitely taste better than non-vegan marshmallows ever did!!
They were so good in my sweet potato casserole for Thanksgiving!

I found these marshmallows at Grocery Outlet a little while

ago and the vanilla flavour really excited me. Plus, they’re vegan and Dandies has probably set the standard for vegan marshmallows.

These marshmallows did not disappoint! The whiff of vanilla when I opened the bag was wonderful. And their taste was equally wonderful. So authentic; non-vegans wouldn’t even know the difference. This is another fine example of a food that meets expectations and replicates what we’re used to but without the need to harm / exploit / kill animals.

Tonight, I used the marshmallows to make vegan S’mores cookies. Here is the recipe I used - https://minimalistbaker.com/vegan-smores-cookies/. Being the Canada Day long weekend, I had a craving to bake some cookies, and this is what I baked. The recipe was simple and the marshmallows browned and ‘melted’ beautifully. I might take them to a family gathering and share them. I’m sure no one will complain that they’re vegan.

I would definitely get this again.

These mini vegan marshmallows puff up delightfully when you put them in the oven

on broil.😋 Keep a watchful eye out though so that they don't burn. I love making vegan s'mores with these. They can be addictive to snack on so be careful not to overdo it.

Toronto memories: I remember back in the day when vegan marshmallows weren't a thing here in Canada but they had them in the States. My first experience with vegan marshmallows was way back when Jen from Apiecalypse Now had her booth at the Veg Food Fest near the "stage in the round" area. (Before she got her bigger space). She made her own of different flavors which was the coolest thing ever!

Now vegan marshmallows are so accessible. You can find them in a number of places. Health food stores are the easiest though.
