Got this at a Conad near Palermo to make sandwiches. It was the only vegan cold-cut available. The price was higher than what I was used to see here in Sicily: 4.99€ for this 90g pack, that’s closer to the prices I usually spend when grocery shopping in Zurich.
Nutritionally it’s a good product: it has a decent amount of calories and the main ingredient is wheat gluten, like in seitan. The taste is delicate and pleasant, the consistency really similar to the bresaola. I appreciated that it was not overly salted, as sometimes these cold cuts alternatives are.
