Instructions are very vague about how long to put this on for, so came out burnt on the first attempt. I like that these are #palmoilfree and the box feels like recycled card. #popcorn

I love this and hunt for it on sale. Like all microwave popcorn I think it depends on the strength of the microwave and you need to listen to when the popping slows down. After that it starts to burn quickly. It’s tricky catching it at the right time so you don’t have too many unpopped kernels.

Proper. Small word, big ambition. My father was a hopeless cook but made the best popcorn. Together, we’d spend hours obsessing over new flavours, delicious ingredients and the magic of popping corn. Years later, inspired by the popcorn maker my dad gave me, Proper was born. My best friend Ryan and I joined forces and launched our business in 2011. We spent long nights cold calling and packing boxes of popcorn from his flat in London and our first batches were made by tossing kernels in a refashioned cement mixer!
