The taste of this reminded me of the first meat alternative I found years ago when I worked in Singapore for a couple of years, I thought that the taste was so gruesome that it had to be real meat because I couldn’t imagine any plant tasting this awful, and it made me concerned that I wasn’t going to find any good tasting meat alternative for a long while. With that said, I’ve never had real Korean barbecue, so this might really in fact taste like the real thing. The texture was nice. I fried it in my cast-iron pan with just a little oil, and it crisped up nice on the outside, and soft and chewy in the inside. Since I didn’t like the taste, I included it in my fried rice and use them in my beans and rice burrito, which has a lot of ingredients, so I thought that it would mask the unpleasant taste. It did help and make it more palatable, but it did diminish the taste of my burrito, which I normally love. Every time I bit into one of these pieces, I’d cringe a little. So then I used the rest of the package by making a stir fry noodle dish. I fried it along with soft tofu, bell peppers, onion, ginger, and I drenched it with the orange sauce packages that come with Gardeins Chik’n (I love their chicken, but not this sauce so much). That turned out to be a winner. The unpleasant taste was much more mild and the texture was perfect for this dish. I wouldn’t get this flavor again just to make this, but I will definitely try out any of their other flavors. I’m not sure why I found the flavor of this so unpleasant because, I like all the ingredients that are in this, such as #Tvp, #Cocoa #pear #onion #Garlic #apple and #GreenOnion. I didn’t notice any odd ingredient. #NationalMakeLunchCountDay
