This was a lovely lentil and veg soup, So tasty and comforting and much needed on this cold cold day. Quite a large portion as well, and really filled me up. You can request for a gluten-free bread roll if you prefer. #soup #soupoftheday
All through January, Tide Tables Cafe has taken all non-vegan items off their menu and gone fully vegan. It’s so refreshing to see a cafe take the veganuary pledge for what it is: a commitment to cut out animal products for a whole month (too many cafes have used veganuary as a gimmicky marketing ploy).
It was nice watching them politely but unapologetically explain that they will not serve animal products all of january, and that customers could choose from their range of plant milks. few folks might make some vegaphobic comment and leave the cafe, but many just accepted it and chose a vegan milk, which i thought was a minor win. Much respect to a cafe who have understood the assignment✊.
Tide Tables is a vegetarian cafe with an extensive vegan menu. Run by the same folk as HollyHock fairtrade cafe (nearby), both places share a pretty similar menu. Pasties, pies, and pastries, salads, and some hot food. And a healthy selection of cakes and desserts too. Lots of smoothies, juices, and vegan wines too. They place focus on vegetarian and fair trade produce.
Whether you’re biking and jogging along the river, or just after a meal and drink in Richmond as you watch the boats go by, this is definitely a place worth considering. They’re situated within the arches under the Richmond Bridge. Two entrances, one is step-free. Large outdoor seating area, and ample bike racks. Right along the bike path.
