Located within a two minute walk of my hotel in Las Vegas, I went to Target to do a little grocery shopping, which included getting a couple bottles of wine. Yellowtail Cabernet Sauvignon was selected. It had been a while since I’ve bought this. I was surprised how ridiculously overpriced some bottles of wine were at Target, but this was only $6.99 US each. I believe this was cheaper than at home.
I don’t think this wine is one of Australia’s finest, but it was still good. Perhaps that’s why it was only $6.99. Regardless, it represented very good value.
According to the LCBO website, the wine is described as “Deep purple with intense aromas of prune and candy/vanilla. The palate is rich with confectionary black fruit, black olive and wood spice. The finish is rich and mellow.”
At the price of $6.99, I would definitely get it again. At the LCBO, it’s priced at $14.95 Cdn. For $14.95, there are better tasting wines (no offence to Yellowtail).
