This week I visited a Lazeez Shawarma restaurant for the first time. Although this franchise has several locations, this one is just a few minutes from my place and I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to walk inside.
I think the Falafel Sandwich Wrap was 1 of 2 vegan wrap options (the other being the Fava Bean Wrap). I don’t remember how many falafel balls went into this wrap, but they were made/cooked to order. I liked that they weren’t sitting around having already been cooked and waiting for someone to come along and order them. I dragged this wrap “through the garden” and asked for every vegetable option to be put in it: lettuce, parsley, tomato, hot pepper, black olives, onion, turnip, pickles, cucumber and green olives. It also came with tahini sauce.
In one of the photos, you can see the vegetable options. Notice how clean that area is. I was impressed by this. In my experience, I don’t see this often enough.
This wrap was huge (I ordered the large size) and stuffed! It was absolutely delicious and healthy.
When I suggested to my brother that we get some thing from there, he said “I’ll have whatever you’re having.” So he ate the same vegan Falafel Sandwich Wrap and loved it too. This was one of the few times he didn’t care there wasn’t any meat in it or any dairy-based sauce.
It just goes to show that if you make good vegan food, they will come and enjoy it.
I will definitely have to go back for more Falafel Sandwich wraps.
