I recall that TJs sold fresh, thawed edamame like this several years ago and then discontinued it. I was surprised to see it back in the fresh/salad section recently. In the past it was in a plastic recyclable carton and now it is in a sealed plastic, non-recyclable bag. I’m not sure if I just got a weird batch but the beans were a little slimy/filmy and I don’t remember them being like that previously. (The date was fine). I like the convenience of the thawed ones but I think I’ll stick to their frozen and just thaw as I need as that’s more cost effective (and not slimy).

I wonder if that’s why it’s been so hard to find the frozen version of this product at TJ lately. When I buy it frozen if I put it in warm water it is thawed and ready to eat in like 2-3 minutes.
