When I went vegan, the only thing I struggled with replacing was my pearls. I didn't feel comfortable wearing faux pearls, gems or precious metals. I knew I wanted to replace my jewelry with beads, but I never could find anything. A friend introduced me to the artwork of Molina Parker, an Oglala Lakota third generation beader, and I love her work. (I tend to wear minimalist jewelry, but she has quite ornate pieces as well.)
