It was really much better than I expected! Perhaps the use of brown rice made the rice feel tougher with more presence, so it didnt dwindle despite sucking up the broth.
The broth was quite flavorful from the kombu, and could steal stand out from the turmeric. I see a lot of potential for using flavors other then turmeric for in this dish!
Also, it wasn't just filled with rice, there was a good amount of mushroom and capsicum and corn to give a balance nutrients and texture. I think it'd be a great idea to add... slightly sauteed diced yellow onions~
