I love a mung dhal #samoosa. These were tasty enough in terms of filling, but too oily (not the #sweetdreamsaremadeofgrease kind), which really detracted from the whole. 🏷️R50 for 4 via UberEats.

Fluffy, simple tasting plate of savoury pancakes. They were very mildly seasoned. I enjoyed the side sauces that came with the pancakes. The sauces livened up the flavour. The menu had such a variety of vegetarian and vegan dishes, I'll be returning to try out the other options. Very different. Steamed savory squares made from chickpea flower and tempered with mustard and sesame seeds. Quite spicy actually. Looks like a cake 😂.

Sorry I spelt the name of this dish incorrectly please note It should read - Khaman Dokla Couldn’t resist trying this when I saw it Light and fluffy and full of flavour Must say I really enjoyed this Made a great on the go light lunch This place looked really interesting and had a store off Restuarant with lots of vegan items and lots of authentic spices and interesting items Will definitely have a sit down meal there in the future R35

Stale, cold, oil-soaked, crumbling #samoosa that were probably fried yesterday, with a bland filling of frozen mixed veg. One bite was bad enough. Don't know how any self-respecting chef sends this out the kitchen.

Had to try Shayona as it's a vegetarian and vegan restaurant. The yellow dhal, one of our home staples, smelled amazing, but was lacking in some quintessential North Indian spicing. #chillilover
