The Vegan High Tea at Pendray Inn & Teahouse is a spectacular way to spend the afternoon ! 🫖 🍰 🥧 I loved everything about this experience and the choices of teas were top notch—Silk Road Tea & Westholme Tea. I ordered the African Rooibos tea by Silk Road and it was so tasty with splashes of oat milk. This spread includes several types of savories & sweets, and I’ll start with savory: 🥒 🥪 A cucumber, lemon-dill vegan cream cheese & chives sandwich on crustless marble bread, an herbed cashew mozzarella & tomato slice drizzled with balsamic atop a petite slice of French bread, a baked tofu, mushroom, & spinach remoulade atop a petite slice of French bread, and, my favorite savory offering, a pinwheel filled with curried vegetable & refried beans. After enjoying the savories we moved on to the second tier, which included two different types of freshly baked scones: a Westholme “Cream of Earl” Scone, and a Sultanas Scone (sultanas is another word for golden raisins). The scones came with a house made coconut butter that was quite delicious and unique, as well as a house-made jam using local berries. The Signature Pastries included: a Raspberry Oatmeal Bite, a Berry & Lemon Tart (my favorite!), a Pumpkin & Carrot Cake with cream cheese frosting, and a sustainable chocolate covered strawberry. 🍓 🤤 To enjoy this vegan high tea, Pendray Inn does require a reservation, and one must request vegan with 24hrs notice. The Pendray Tea House is also proud to have achieved BC Green Business's highest certification at the Green level.
