Made a return to the original Old Amoy flagship on Smith Street since I was in the vicinity. Chendol is a traditional shaved ice dessert with red bean, pandan strands and drenched in gula melaka (palm sugar syrup) and coconut milk. The pandan strands are handmade - and really good quality at that. Probably the best consistent one in SG.

The BEST chendol where you can really taste unadulterated pandan and coconut goodness, hands down. I'm not typically into cold dishes but this I make an exception for #sgvegan

Super love this #chendol at People Park Complex Food Centre! Made using fresh coconut milk, gula melaka and pandan jelly, voted as one of the best chendols in Singapore, there’s usually a queue. I always make it a point to grab a bowl whenever I’m around the area 🥰😋 #oldamoychendol #desserts #veganisnotscary

Yay vegan chendol! Tried this on a VegThisCity food tour 🤤 it’s so good and a classic dessert. The gula melaka is sooo good and when it melts it’s great to drink up anything left 😋 a must try for vegans and meat eaters alike 😋 🤤

The Gula Melaka is melted down on a charcoal stove, and the coconut milk is cold pressed apparently!! Wow!!

非常好吃的Chendol!椰糖浆有点咸，和椰奶很搭!chendol也很顺滑加上红豆沙沙的口感就是一个完美的甜点(糖浆和椰奶给的很足，不用怕吃到一半就没味道了。只是分量有点小，另外这个摊位用一次性塑料勺子，想来的小伙伴们最好自备餐具! this chendol was so good! The gala melaka syrup was a bit salty and it paired really well with the coconut milk. The chendol was smooth and the texture of the red bean was a little grainy,making it the perfect dessert. They give quite a bit of syrup and coconut milk so it doesn't fee like you're eating plain ice halfway into the bowl but i do wish that the portion was bigger. this store also uses disposable spoons so please bring your own cutlery if you're planning to try this!
