I would say this restaurant is #minorityowned because in Wetzikon and around (Zürcher Oberland) #vegan is a quite new concept and you have to be brave to dare open a completely #plantbased restaurant! Vegan people ARE a minority and still more on the countryside than in the city. I hope business goes well for them! Big vegan is at a 2 minutes walk from the train station and at the same time offers car parking places, so it's very easy to reach. It is based in a cute older house, which is a bit hidden by another burger restaurant for omnivores. The good thing: the two restaurants are in a friendly relationship and you can order from Big vegan and still eat with your omni friends in the other one, the waiter will bring you your food there, not even "to go" but in a real plate and all. I like this open-mindedness from both the restaurant owners. As usual when I can choose between more than two dishes, I had a hard time to decide what I wanted to eat. Everything looks #sogood but also kind of expensive, but I think I just saw the prices for the menus and not the ones of the individual #veganburgers , which you find on the homepage: https://big-vegan.ch/ So I ended up choosing this #avocado burger with a #fakechicken patty (there would also be salad in it, but I asked to have it without). It was #sodelicious but at the same time also #greasy and heavy, and it was almost 10 pm, so I had to stop after the half burger and gave the other less than a half to my husband 😅 it's definitely not good for him to eat so much, but we both hate food waste. The #fries were delicious too and felt less greasy. You can taste that they are #freshly made out of real #potatoes 😍🤤 they came with a #homemade #dip which on my picture is unfortunately covered by the burger 🙈 the same dip was in the burger, where for my taste I'd preferred less inside, but I suppose I'm a minority in that 😅 All in all, I definitely need to go there again and try the other burgers 😍 and maybe also the tiramisù they should have 🙈 This menu was combined with the burger, the fries and a #softdrink, for 20.50 CHF. #veganburger #burger #veganisnotscary #frenchfries #sweetdreamsaremadeofgrease
